Your city: Karachi
What drives you? (What makes you so passionate about your work)
Colors. I love playing with colors, it's almost an obsession, I am always trying to come up with new ones and adding to my signature palette.
How did you get here and how long have you been in this profession (or been doing what you do)?
Well like most girls, I have always been a make-up lover, but like most mothers mine was also restrictive, I started using it at the age of 15, after much hue and cry, and due to my interest I just wanted to do better and better. Used to make my cousins or friends sit for hours trying my hand on them and honing my skills.
What has been your vision and what do you most love about your work?
Honestly, I never really thought to make it my profession, it's always been my passion. But on seeing my passion for it, my family and friends really encouraged me to take it seriously and start my own thing. Their confidence really boosted my own confidence in my abilities, and that's when I decided to pursue make-up professionally
What do you think is your biggest achievement throughout your professional journey?
I held my first successful Masterclass within months of starting my studio. The response I got was overwhelming. I was sold out of seats in the first week of advertising and requests for another one were just pouring in, Alhamdulillah.
What are your current projects and what do you plan on doing in the near future?
Currently I am working with IDEAS (Gul Ahmed) and destinations PK, with several other projects in the pipeline in the following months. For the future now, I want to open my own make-up institute.
A word of advice you would like to pass on to other women struggling with their start-ups?
Never ever give up, no matter how tough the competition. Have confidence in yourself and your abilities, don't feel inferior then anyone. Just focus on your work and how to make yourself better.
